501(c)(3) Charitable Organization
Our mission is to provide housing to those that are homeless, low-income and veterans to a more sustainable living in a secured, self managed and gated setting know as a "Village",with the help of our Dallas/Ft. Worth community. We are a start-up nonprofit and are seeking volunteers and several people interested in joining our Board of Directors.
NTWCC currently has 7 board members and several volunteers, and we are looking for people with an interest in non-profit opportunities, and those with the experience and skills to complement our team. The ideal candidates are people with a passion for finding solutions to homelessness; volunteers with a background in fundraising, construction contractors and sub-contractors, and anyone who believes they have something to bring to the table.
Our long term goals are as follows:
*Building a village for the homeless: shelters (one room with bad, closet, table) a Resource Center with shared bathrooms, showers, laundry room, kitchen, storage, and common areas to gather and recreate.
*Building a village for low-income couples: tiny homes providing amenities in a small community offering common areas to gather and recreate.
*Building a village for low-income multi-family: homes providing amenities in a small community offering common areas to gather and recreate.
*Building a village for Veterans: tiny homes providing amenities for those with special needs: low beds, counter areas, accessible bathroom amenities and ramps, for those in wheelchairs.
Each village will be gated and secured at night. Inhabitants will be given the responsibility and privilege of self-governance, and the opportunity to draft their own set of HOA guidelines with the help of experienced property management personnel.
We are particularly in need of a contractor/contractors with knowledge of city ordinance, zoning issues, multi-tenant compliance, the construction of tiny homes, and running utilities into the communities.
As a start-up nonprofit, we are in need of concerned community members willing to volunteer their time and expertise to assist in the preliminary conceptual design and construction planning phase, and also those interested in providing outreach for funding.
Following completion of our pre-construction planning, and the acquisition of adequate funding, all members of the board will be compensated annually as funding allows.
A nonprofit is as strong as the community that holds it up. Together, we can do more than we can do alone. Let's bring our abilities and passions together to affect real change.
There are many ways to join us and support our mission. Contact us to find out more about volunteer opportunities, fundraising events, and ways that you can get our message to your friends and family.
